Protesters gather in church yard after clashing with police in Yerevan

YEREVAN. May 31 (Interfax) - The situation near the Armenian Foreign Ministry, where protesters have clashed with police, has stabilized.

The protesters have left the premises of the Foreign Ministry and headed to a church, an Interfax correspondent reported. They have gathered in the yard of the Saint Anna Church in central Yerevan.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry told Interfax that 29 people have been detained.

Protesters earlier clashed with police near the Armenian Foreign Ministry, where people demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had come to meet with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
