MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - Moscow has been extremely careful about any issues pertaining to a strategic parity with Washington, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday.
"We have been extremely careful and cautious about everything related to a disruption of the balance or the creation of any threats to resources providing the strategic parity. Please note that I am talking precisely about the parity, rather than strategic stability. So, I would be absolutely irresponsible of me to contemplate about the kind of our response to the respective events," Ryabkov told reporters in Moscow.
He was asked whether, in the opinion of Russia, Washington was involved in the recent Kiev attacks on Russian missile attack warning systems and whether Russia's response could lead to a reduction of the U.S. strategic potential.
