BAKU. June 3 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and United States Secretary of State's Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations Louis Bono have met in Baku to discuss bilateral cooperation and peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
"The parties discussed various aspects of the Azerbaijani-U.S. bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda and exchanged opinions on the peace process in the South Caucasus," it said.
Bayramov acknowledged positive trends in more intensive contacts between Azerbaijani and U.S. officials, it said.
He also provided his American counterpart with in-depth information on peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the latest agreements between the parties as part of the peace agenda, it said.
"Bayramov emphasized that the meeting between the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers in Almaty on May 10-11 manifested the efficiency of the bilateral peace process," it said.
Bono said the latest processes inspired hope for a success of the peace talks. He reiterated the U.S.' willingness to support the negotiations and contribute to this process.
The parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
