NEW DELHI. June 3 (Interfax) - India will not send its high-ranking representatives to the Ukraine conference in Switzerland, The Hindustan Times said, citing informed sources.
"While India is expected to be among the countries attending the conference at Buergenstock Hotel above Lake Lucerne during June 15-16, New Delhi will not be represented by top leaders, including the prime minister or external affairs minister," the newspaper said.
Though Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Kumar Doval "attended the meeting hosted in Jeddah last August by Saudi Arabia, he is unlikely to go to Switzerland," it said.
India's participation in the Ukraine summit is expected to be at the same level as at four earlier such meetings, the newspaper said. Thus, a Foreign Ministry official or a deputy national security advisor may represent India at the upcoming event.
The Indian leadership is yet to decide on exactly who will represent India at the "Ukraine peace summit" due to take place in Switzerland on June 15-16.
