Kremlin agrees with Swiss party's opinion that Russia should be invited to Ukraine peace summit

MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - The Kremlin agrees with the opinion of Switzerland's largest party that Russia should be invited to the Ukraine peace summit, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"I cannot comment on that, because this is an internal affair of the confederation. This is not our business. But we would definitely agree with the party's arguments," Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

The Swiss People's Party said that Switzerland should invite Russia to the Ukraine peace summit, otherwise the country will essentially be hosting an event of Russia's opponents and become involved in the conflict.

"Switzerland thus deviates from its long-standing, traditional course based on neutrality. Switzerland has already lost its neutrality to a considerable extend in the case of Ukraine by largely standing in solidarity with the Western minority. So, we can only agree with what the party says," Peskov added.
