Putin hopes everything Iranian President Raisi established in relations with Russia to be continued

ST. PETERSBURG. June 5 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed hope that everything Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi established in Russian-Iranian relations would be continued.

"We really hope that everything President Raisi established in Russian-Iranian relations, everything will be continued. I don't have a lot of doubts about it because everything we do meets out mutual interests," Putin said at a meeting with editors-in-chief of foreign news agencies.

Russia is looking forward to the elections of the new president of Iran, he said.

"We are looking forward to the elections of the Iranian president. I am looking forward to a meeting with a new Iranian president at international events, such as the SCO and BRICS. I am confident that we will find a common ground and work on the implementation of all plans which were outlined by late President Raisi," Putin said.
