G7 to announce agreement on lending $50-bln revenue from immobilized Russian assets to Ukraine - media

WASHINGTON. June 13 (Interfax) - The G7 leaders are planning to announce an agreement on lending $50-billion revenue from immobilized Russian assets to Ukraine. CNN said, citing informed sources and noting that might happen as early as on Thursday.

"The $50 billion will be transferred before the end of 2024," a source told CNN.

According to a senior U.S. official, the negotiating parties have structured the deal so that all participants share the risks.

"This loan will mostly be provided by the United States and will be supplemented by money from Europe," a French official said at a press briefing.

"Countries are still discussing how to partition the cost if the profits from Russian assets are not sufficient to cover the need," he said.
