MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - The Second Western District Military Court has dismissed the defense's appeal against the arrest of Lt. Gen. Vadim Shamarin, head of the Russian Armed Forces' Main Communication Directorate and deputy chief of the General Staff accused of taking a bribe, an Interfax correspondent reported.
The 235th Garrison Military Court ruling of May 22, 2024, which placed Shamarin under arrest until July 22, 2024, is upheld," the appeal court said.
It has thus dismissed the appeal against the lower-tier court's ruling. The lawyer asked for placing Shamarin under house arrest.
