IAEA specialists complete rotation at Zaporozhye NPP under Russian military control - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - Russia's Armed Forces and National Guard units have provided safety during the latest rotation of monitors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

"For the purposes of providing safety for the IAEA monitors, a ceasefire was declared on the entire route of movement from the designated place of passage - the ruined bridge near the settlement of Kamenskoye, Zaporozhye region - and strictly observed by all Russian servicemen," the statement said.

In addition, Russian bomb disposal experts examined the location on the subject of unexploded ordnance, it said.

"The newly arrived mission consists of four inspectors, their task is to monitor and assess the safety of Zaporozhye NPP," the statement said.
