NATO defense ministers should agree on Ukraine aid coordination plan on June 14 - Stoltenberg

BRUSSELS. June 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine needs predictable, long-term military aid, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday.

"Tomorrow, I expect Ministers will agree the plan for NATO security assistance and training for Ukraine, a key deliverable for the NATO Summit [in Washington on July 9-11]," Stoltenberg told a press conference in Brussels after the first day of meetings between NATO defense ministers.

More than 99% of all military aid for Ukraine is provided by NATO allies, so "it makes sense that NATO takes on a greater role in these efforts," he said.

"This will put our support on a firmer footing, provide predictability for Kyiv, and address both immediate and long-term needs," Stoltenberg said.
