Russian forces take control of 3 communities in special military operation zone over past week - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. June 14 (Interfax) - Russian forces have taken control of Artyomovka in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), Timkovka in the Kharkov region, and Staromayorskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in the special operation zone in Ukraine over the past week, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"Units of the western group of forces through active operations took better positions and liberated Artyomovka in the LPR and Timkovka in the Kharkov region over the past week," the ministry said.

Strikes were made on units of five mechanized, tank, assault and airmobile brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, territorial defense units, and three brigades of the Ukrainian National Guard, it said.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 3,405 servicemen, four armored fighting vehicles, 32 road vehicles, [and] 30 field artillery weapons, including seven U.S.-made M777 howitzers. Three Ukrainian electronic warfare stations and four field ammo depots were destroyed," it said.

According to the ministry, units of the eastern group of forces continued moving deeper into Ukrainian defensive lines and took control of Staromayorskoye in the DPR.

Russian forces hit concentrations of personnel and hardware of three territorial defense brigades and a unit of the Ukrainian National Guard, it said.

In the eastern group of forces' zone of responsibility, the Ukrainian army lost up to 965 servicemen, two tanks, six armored fighting vehicles, 29 road vehicles, two Vampire MLRS fighting vehicles, 12 field artillery weapons, and three Anklav and Nota electronic warfare stations over the past week, the ministry said.

"Units of the northern group of forces continued moving deeper into the enemy's defense during military operations over the past week," it said.

Russian forces hit personnel and hardware of four units, one marine infantry brigade, and two territorial defense brigades as well as two brigades of the Ukrainian National Guard, and repelled 45 counterattacks by assault groups.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 1,710 servicemen, two armored fighting vehicles, 32 road vehicles, three Grad MLRS fighting vehicles, 16 field artillery weapons, three Bukovel-AD and Nota electronic warfare stations, and eight field ammo depots," it said.

"Units of the southern group of forces improved their frontline position and hit personnel and hardware of six mechanized, airmobile and two air assault brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as two territorial defense units over the past week," the ministry said.

According to the ministry's information, the Ukrainian army lost up to 3,785 servicemen, 11 armored fighting vehicles, 48 road vehicles, 39 field artillery weapons, including 14 western-made ones, and 22 field ammo depots.

"Units of the central group of forces improved their tactical position and hit formations of four infantry brigades, four mechanized brigades and an air assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a territorial defense unit," it said.

According to its information, 34 Ukrainian counterattacks were repelled. The total losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past week amounted to 2,375 servicemen, 14 armored fighting vehicles, including four Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and two Marder infantry fighting vehicles, six road vehicles, and 52 field artillery weapons.

"Units of the Dnieper group of forces hit formations of three Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades, a marine infantry brigade and a unit of the Ukrainian National Guard," it said.

The Ukrainian army's losses in the group's zone of responsibility amounted to up to 555 servicemen, 37 road vehicles, and 26 field artillery weapons, including seven foreign-made ones, the ministry said.
