PETERHOF, St. Petersburg. June 18 (Interfax) - Prosecutors of Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will set up a working group to fight crime and to protect the rights of citizens, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said.
"We are headed towards the implementation of our agreements reached in April, including the agreement to set up a working group of our respective agencies to fight crime and to protect the rights of citizens," Krasnov said at a meeting with UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi.
Russia has shared practices for overseeing the fulfillment of laws on protecting citizens and territories from floods and other natural and man-made disasters, Krasnov said.
"I have no doubt that the further continuous work of our group will allow us to make tangible progress in other areas, including strengthening the rule of law and the greater effectiveness in the fight against crime. This includes the fight against terrorism, extremism, illegal use of cryptocurrencies, domestic violence, and cybercrimes," Krasnov said.
The UAE attorney general is paying a working visit to Russia to meet with colleagues from BRICS member states.
