Over 60% of annual output produced for certain most needed military hardware - Russian PM

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - Over 60% of the annual output has been manufactured for certain most needed types of military hardware and weapons for the special military operation, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"We continue to increase the production of physical and technical resources to achieve tasks on the contact line. This includes weapons [and] military and special equipment. Plans for the supply of these products to our forces have been made. Over 60% of the annual outcome for certain most needed products has already been manufactured," Mishustin said at a meeting of the Coordination Council for providing the needs of the Russian Armed Forces on Wednesday.

It is necessary to "strictly observe the established deadlines and not to slow down, and of course, improve the product quality," he said.

"There are positive results from the modernization of existing combat systems. Engineers and designers have expanded the system capabilities. It is extremely important to continue this work. The achievement of military goals and the life of our defenders depend on it," the prime minister said, adding that the considerable funds provided for the development of the defense sector need to be thoroughly supervised.

"It is necessary to thoroughly supervise the distribution and use of money at every stage, verify the signed agreements, and make broader use of instruments to support [the defense sector]," Mishustin said.
