YEREVAN. June 20 (Interfax) - Armenia is ready to conclude a peace agreement with Azerbaijan within a month, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said.
"I presented to my counterpart where we stand on normalization of relations with neighbors and efforts to build lasting stability in the South Caucasus. As you are aware, we started delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan based on 1991 Almaty declaration," Mirzoyan said at a joint press conference with his Lithuanian counterpart in Vilnius.
He said he was hoping for the continuation of the process with due account taken of the mutual recognition of territorial integrity.
"It is also of utmost importance to finalize the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We have sent very constructive proposals to the Azerbaijani side, and we are ready to finalize and conclude the treaty during the upcoming month, as we have already proposed," Mirzoyan said.
"Unfortunately, we haven't been hearing from the Azerbaijani side so far," he said.
On June 12, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia stands ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan within a month.
"The text of a peace agreement has been chiefly finalized. Armenia is prepared to sign the agreement within a month," Pashinyan told journalists.
