TASHKENT. June 24 (Interfax) - Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent a telegram to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to extent deepest condolences over terror attacks in Derbent and Makhachkala with multiple police and civilian casualties, the Uzbek presidential press service said on Monday.
"The leader of Uzbekistan has strongly condemned the terror attack in Dagestan and expressed his readiness for further active cooperation between respective services in countering such challenges," the press service said.
The Dagestani Interior Ministry said on Sunday evening that a synagogue and a church in Derbent and a church and a traffic police post in Makhachkala had come under attack.
According to the latest update, 15 police officers and a number of civilians were killed, and 16 persons were injured in the attacks.
