MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - Russia's northern group of forces has struck Ukrainian positions near Volchansk, Bochkovo and Liptsy in the Kharkov region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
"Units from the northern group of forces have hit troops and hardware of the [Ukrainian] 36th Marine Brigade, the 113th Territorial Defense Brigade, and the 13th National Guard Brigade near Volchansk, Bochkovo and Liptsy in the Kharkov region. A counterattack by assault groups of the enemy's 71st Jaeger Brigade was repelled," it said.
In that area, the Ukrainian army lost up to 220 troops, one tank, three armored combat vehicles, 14 trucks, a 155mm Panzerhaubitze-2000 howitzer, a 122mm D-30 howitzer, and two electronic warfare stations over the day, it said.
