OSCE turns into instrument for manipulation of European processes from overseas - Lavrov

MINSK. June 25 (Interfax) - The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has deteriorated and begun serving Western interests, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

"We spoke about our interaction at the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. Although the latter has fully deteriorated and is essentially serving the interests of the West, this still requires more effective countering of the attempts to rewrite [and] nullify the principles which the OSCE's activity has rested upon since the moment the Helsinki Final Act was signed," Lavrov said.

"The OSCE has failed to become an organization that cares about the interests of most members, and instead became an instrument of those who manipulate European processes from oversees, have simply subjugated Europe to their interests in recent years, and have removed Europe as an economic rival," he said.
