MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - There has been no rise in radiation levels in Energodar following the destruction of a radiation control post of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant in Velikaya Znamenka, the Russian Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) said.
"Following the Ukrainian Armed Forces' destruction of a radiation control post of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power plant in Velikaya Znamenka, over 40 kilometers away from Energodar, a mobile radiation control laboratory of a branch of the Russian FMBA's Hygiene and Epidemiology Center No. 33 has been monitoring radiation in Energodar. No excess of natural background levels has been detected," the agency said on Wednesday.
Agency units in Energodar are operating normally, it said.
Zaporozhye NPP representatives said earlier on Wednesday that a radiation control post had been destroyed in Velikaya Znamenka.
