MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - The appointment of Mark Rutte as the next NATO secretary general is unlikely to change the alliance's policy, which is aimed at the strategic suppression of Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"This choice is unlikely to change anything in the general policy of NATO, which is working on the strategic suppression of Russia both individually, I mean as member states directly supervised by the United States, and together as the North Atlantic Alliance," Peskov said when commenting on Rutte's appointment.
"The alliance is hostile towards us at this point," he said.
As reported, NATO agreed on Wednesday to appoint Rutte, former Dutch prime minister, its next secretary general.
