Russian ship practices artillery firing during exercise in Baltic Sea

MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - The Neustrashimy patrol ship has practiced artillery firing at sea and air targets during an exercise, the press service for the Baltic Fleet said on Wednesday.

"The Neustrashimy patrol ship fired artillery at air and sea targets during a routine exercise at sea in the sea firing ranges of the Baltic Fleet," it said.

The ship conducted the firing using the ship's artillery system, destroying mock enemy drones, it said.

"Special devices simulating mock enemy drones were used as air targets," it said.

The exercise practiced interaction between the ship's radio-technical and rocket-artillery combat units in detecting and classifying targets, shadowing them using radio-technical systems, and destroying them, it said.

"After destroying the air targets, the ship practiced firing artillery at floating panels simulating small sea targets. All of the targets were successfully hit as a result of the firing," the press service said.
