MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said at a meeting with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix that the UN should give its assessment of the Ukrainian strikes on Crimea on June 23 and also mentioned attempts by Western countries to exclude Russia from Interpol, Interior Ministry spokesperson Irina Volk said.
"There are attempts by a number of Western countries to exclude the Russian Federation from Interpol bypassing all charter documents of the organization. The parties also touched upon the situation around legally unsubstantiated decision by the Financial Action Task Force against money laundering to suspend Russia's membership in this organization," Volk said on her Telegram channel.
Kolokoltsev called on the UN to give an appropriate assessment of the June 23 missile strikes on the Crimean Peninsula, in which civilians were killed and injured.
"The minister expressed confidence that all those responsible for that and other terrorist attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation would not escape punishment," Volk said.
