Russia should start production, deployment of intermediate-range missiles in national security interests - Putin

MOSCOW. June 28 (Interfax) - Russia might have to start producing shorter- and medium-range missiles and decide where to deploy them based on its national security interests in response to similar activities in the United States, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Apparently, we need to start production of these attack systems and then, based on the actual situation, make decisions about where - should this be necessary to ensure our security - to deploy them," Putin said at a meeting with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council on Friday.
