MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces delivered a strike with an Iskander tactical missile system on Ukraine's Mirgorod airfield, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"The strike carried out by the Russian army destroyed five functioning Sukhoi-27 multirole fighter jets and damaged two more currently under repairs," the statement said.
The ministry published monitoring footage showing the destruction of Ukrainian Armed Forces planes at the Mirgorod airfield in the Poltava region.
"Iskander-M tactical missile system units of the Russian Armed Forces delivered a group missile strike on the parking space for Ukrainian Armed Forces planes at the Mirgorod airfield. Monitoring data confirmed the destruction of military aircraft," it said.
