MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Aircraft of the U.S.-led coalition have continue to create dangerous situations in the Syrian airspace, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, Maj. Gen. Yury Popov said.
"Six violations of the deconfliction protocols dated December 9, 2019, by flights of the coalition's unmanned aerial vehicles uncoordinated with the Russian side were recorded over the past day," Popov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
Eight violations of the Syrian airspace by three pairs of F-15 fighter jets and a pair of A-10 Thunderbolt attack planes of the coalition were recorded in the al-Tanf area in the past 24 hours, he said.
"A total of 322 violations by the coalition's aircraft in the al-Tanf area were registered in June 2024," Popov said.
Meanwhile, the Syrian authorities, assisted by the reconciliation center, facilitated the departure of 29 refugees, including 14 men, five women and ten children, from the Rukban refugee camp in the U.S.-controlled al-Tanf area, he said.
"The United States has continued to demonstrate its inability to provide practical assistance to the refugees' soonest return from the camp," where the situation remains unfavorable, Popov said.
