MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Moscow's Butyrsky District Court found former head of the Roscosmos Research Institute of Precision Instruments Anatoly Shishanov guilty of abuse of office on Tuesday.
"The court has found Anatoly Vasilyevich Shishanov and his accomplice, Oleg Anatolyevich Gomozov, guilty of abuse of office and sentenced them to five and four years in a general penitentiary, respectively," the court press service told Interfax.
Both convicts were prohibited from holding managerial positions in commercial and other entities for two years.
The court fully upheld a civil claim of a Russian Defense Ministry representative for compensation of the material damage done by the crime.
Shishanov was placed under house arrest in summer 2020.
Shishanov, a Hero of Socialist Labor, a Hero of the Soviet Union, and a Hero of Russia, served as the general director of the Research Institute of Precision Instruments in 1994-2019.
