There is political will to settle disagreements with Turkey - Peskov

ASTANA. July 3 (Interfax) - There is a political will to settle disagreements between Russia and Turkey, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Various kinds of problems inevitably occur where a lot of work is being done and a wide range of bilateral relations is being maintained. There is a political will to solve them. We have the necessary level of bilateral relations and trade and economic interaction to do so. This is a normal work process," Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

Reporters asked Peskov who initiated a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana on Wednesday.

"It was a mutual initiative. A visit of President Putin to the Turkish Republic remains on our agenda. No doubt, it will happen eventually, as soon as the schedules of both presidents are reconciled. Today is a good opportunity to discuss the prospects of this visit," Peskov said.
