MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - The Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow has arrested Alisheri Ismatzoda, a coach of the Russian national freestyle wrestling team, who had been detained in connection with a criminal case involving abetting terrorism, granting the investigators' motion.
"The court took Ismatzoda into custody until August 28, 2024," the court said on Wednesday.
According to the court's information, Ismatzoda is charged with abetting terrorist activities.
He has been formally charged, the court said.
The news about Ismatzoda's detention came earlier this week.
According to earlier reports, the investigators believe Ismatzoda transferred money to people associated with terrorism.
The court said that, according to the factual allegations, "Ismatzoda, a native of the Republic of Tajikistan, participated in financing an organization that is banned in Russia."
