Lavrov, Indian PM discuss interaction in trade, economy

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Astana, Kazakhstan on Wednesday to discuss interaction in trade and economic sphere, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The sides discussed priority areas for Russian-Indian bilateral interaction, primarily in the trade and economic sphere, and the current international and regional agenda," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

Lavrov and Jaishankar agreed to continue a comprehensive development of "the especially privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India," the ministry said.
