Putin says is serious about Trump's readiness to end conflict in Ukraine

ASTANA. July 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he is not familiar with Donald Trump's specific proposals on the possibility of ending the conflict in Ukraine, but treats them seriously.

"The fact that Mr. Trump as a presidential candidate says he is ready and wants to stop the war in Ukraine, we treat that quite seriously," Putin told reporters on Thursday.

The Russian president also said he is "not familiar, naturally, with possible proposals" on how precisely Trump intends to do that.

Trump's specific proposals "are, of course, a key issue," he said.

"I have no doubt that he says it sincerely, and we support that," Putin said.
