Putin says saw parts of Biden-Trump debate

MOSCOW. July 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he has seen parts of the debate between the probable U.S. presidential candidates, incumbent U.S. President Joe Biden and former U.S. President Donald Trump.

"I have seen some parts, but I have enough of my own things to do, so I don't really follow that is happening there, bearing in mind, in the comments in the media, they always have certain preferences, someone is for, someone is against," Putin said at a press conference in Astana on Thursday.

Putin said he has seen the debate "in general." "It's impossible to turn away from it, bearing in mind that the United States remains a great power with well-known capabilities in the sphere of economy, security, and military affairs. And the U.S. is a member of the [UN} Security Council, a permanent one. Of course, [it] has such influence on the situation in Ukraine," Putin said.

"Of course, no indifference to what is happening there. But it's their [U.S.] internal affair," Putin said.
