MOSCOW. July 4 (Interfax) - Russian Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has met with Sudan's Acting Foreign Minister Hussein Awad Ali, who is on a private trip in Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
"During the conversation, the focus was largely on the development of the situation in Sudan, with an emphasis on the need for urgent settlement of the military-political crisis in that country. The Russian side reaffirmed its principled position in support of an immediate ceasefire and launching a steady national dialogue in the interest of ensuring the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Sudan," the ministry's website said on Thursday.
The diplomats also considered several practical aspects of further strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian-Sudanese wide-ranging ties.
