MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he plans to discuss the Ukraine situation with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and noted that Orban is visiting Moscow as both a partner of Russia and leader of the country presiding in the Council of the European Union.
"As I understand, you are paying this visit not just as our long-standing partner but also the leader presiding in the Council of the EU," Putin said at the beginning of his meeting with Orban.
"Hopefully, we will have a chance to exchange views on building bilateral relations in the complicated situation and, of course, speak about prospects of the development of the biggest European crisis, I mean the one on the Ukrainian track," Putin said.
He recalled Orban's visit to Kiev on July 2.
"You have come here to discuss every detail of the situation on the Ukraine track," Putin said.
He referred to the Russian position on the Ukraine settlement he presented at a recent meeting with the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"Of course, I am ready to tell you about details. I am hoping you will familiarize me with your position, the position of European partners as well," Putin said.
