Russian Defense Ministry reports downing 3 Ukrainian planes, 5 Neptun-MD missiles over past week

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - Russian air defense forces downed two MiG-29 fighter jets and a Sukhoi Su-27 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force, five ATACMS missiles, five Neptun-MD long-range missiles, and 451 drones over the past week, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

"Air defense systems downed two MiG-29 planes and one Su-27 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force, five U.S.-made ATACMS tactical missiles, five Neptun-MD long-range guided missiles, 14 UK-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles, seven French-made Hammer guided air-launched bombs, a U.S.-made HARM anti-radiation missile, 42 U.S.-made HIMARS and Czech-made Vampire rockets, as well as 451 unmanned aerial vehicles over the past week," the statement said.

In addition, five Ukrainian Su-27 planes and a Mil-24 helicopter were destroyed and two Su-27 planes were damaged at airfields, it said.

"Black Sea Fleet forces destroyed two uncrewed boats of the Ukrainian Navy over the week," it said.

"Thirty-two Ukrainian soldiers surrendered at the line of combat contact over the week," the statement said.
