VILNIUS. July 5 (Interfax/BNS) - Such actions as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's visit to Moscow on Friday undermine confidence in the Hungarian presidency of the Council of the European Union, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said.
"The unilateral decision by Prime Minister Viktor Orban to go to Moscow doesn't in any shape or form represent the EU position. It also undermines the credibility of the Hungarian presidency in the Council of the EU," Nauseda said on the X social network.
As reported, Orban came to Moscow on Friday and is meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said earlier that the visit was paid exclusively as part of bilateral relations between Hungary and Russia.
Hungary assumed rotating presidency at the Council of the European Union on Monday.
