Russian Defense Ministry to host int'l security conference on Aug 13

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - The Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS 2024) will take place on August 13, the conference website said.

"We are inviting representatives of the defense ministries, international organizations, and expert and political communities to discuss the current military-political situation and present their views on the formation of a new, stable and fair architecture of global and regional security," the statement quoted Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov as saying.

"It is possible to ease the confrontation on the global stage, stabilize the situation and create a common space of equal cooperation only through the open dialogue," he said.

According to the organizers, MCIS 2024 will address military cooperation in the Asia Pacific region, current and potential armed conflicts in the Middle East and Africa, and prospects and trends of multipolarity in the contemporary world.

The 11th Moscow Conference on International Security was held in Kubinka, Moscow region, in August 2023 together with the Army 2023 military-technical forum.
