Kremlin has no optimism about Russian-UK relations after Labour's win - Peskov

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - Moscow has no optimism regarding a possible normalization in relations with London now that the Labour Party has won the elections and is going to take office in the United Kingdom, as some previous statements and remarks by its members show that they tend to reject any bilateral interactions in the future, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"As we can judge from their previous statements and remarks, they aren't inclined to display any flexibility or creativity in normalizing Russian-British bilateral relations. They rather tend to continue the line toward denying any future in our bilateral relations," Peskov told journalists when asked whether Russia and the UK could see some improvement in their relations as a new Labour administration takes office.

"We don't feel any optimism" in this respect, he said.
