French scenario of incumbent president's coalition losing election may repeat itself in other European states, U.S. - Russian State Duma speaker

MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - The loss of the incumbent French authorities in elections may repeat itself in other European states and the U.S., State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said.

"The outcome of the French early elections in France, called at the initiative of Macron himself, is his defeat," Volodin said on Telegram on Monday.

"All incumbent heads in Europe and the United States interfering in sovereign affairs of other states while their fellow citizens demand to address domestic problems and develop national economies will share the same plight," he said.

According to the French Interior Ministry, the New Popular Front, a coalition of left-wing parties, won the majority of seats in the National Assembly in the runoff election on Sunday. The New Popular Front will have 182 mandates. The Together coalition of President Emmanuel Macron ranked second with 168 parliament seats. The National Rally of Jordan Bardella came third with 143 seats. The Republicans party got 45 seats, and 39 seats were divided between other contestants.
