MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - Russia has no illusions about the French election, as neither political force has the will to revive bilateral relations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"The victory of political forces committed to reviving our bilateral relations is definitely better for Russia, but we do not see anyone demonstrating such a clear political will just yet, so we have no particular hopes or illusions in this case," Peskov told reporters in response to a question as to whose victory in the French election would be preferable for Russia.
"There is a certain drift in the preferences of French voters," Peskov said. "The drift is indeed unpredictable, but we will continue to watch the process of forming a government, blocs, and so on with great interest. It is obvious that French voters are searching for options," he said.
