MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - Moscow's Basmanny District Court has ordered Yulia Navalnaya's arrest in absentia on the charges of participation in an extremist organization.
"The court has granted the investigator's motion to select custody as a measure of restraint for Yulia Borisovna Navalnaya for two months," a court representative told Interfax on Tuesday.
The period of arrest will count from the day Navalnaya is extradited to Russia or detained in Russian territory, the court said.
Navalnaya has been placed on Russia's wanted list.
Navanaya was earlier charged with participation in an extremist organization.
If found guilty, she faces a fine ranging from 300,000 to 600,000 rubles or one to four years of community service, or two to six years in jail.
Navalnaya is being arraigned for taking part in facilitating the activities of an extremist network set up by her husband Alexei Navalny, a source told Interfax.
Navalny died in a penitentiary in February 2024. He was convicted of several crimes, including establishing an extremist network, the Anti-Corruption Foundation, which was designated extremist and banned in Russia.
Interfax currently has no official comment on the situation.
