MOSCOW. Aug 5 (Interfax) - Russian citizens were not hurt in the protests in Bangladesh, the army now controls the situation in the country, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"A report on the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her cabinet of ministers came from Bangladesh on August 5. It was preceded by mass protests, whose participants demanded that officials responsible for the death of people during anti-government student rallies in July be held accountable," the report, published on the Russian Foreign ministry site on Monday, said.
The army of Bangladesh now controls the situation in the country, the ministry said.
"According to information from our embassy in Dhaka, Russian citizens were not hurt in the unrest," the report said.
