Russian military records 18 violations of Syrian airspace by U.S.-led coalition in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The U.S.-led coalition continues to create dangerous situations in Syria, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Capt. 1st rank Oleg Ignasyuk said.

"Four violations of the deconfliction protocols dated December 9, 2019, by a flight of the coalition's unmanned aerial vehicle uncoordinated with the Russian side were recorded over the day," Ignasyuk said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Fourteen violations of the Syrian airspace by three pairs of F-15 fighter jets, two pairs of Typhoon fighter jets and two pairs of A-10 Thunderbolt attack planes of the coalition were observed in the al-Tanf area over the day, Ignasyuk said.

Positions of Syrian government forces came under one attack by the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group, banned in Russia, in the Latakia province within the Idlib de-escalation area, he said.
