Putin plans to discuss situation in Kursk region with heads of defense, security agencies

MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the Ukrainian attacks on the Kursk region as a major provocation and said he would discuss it with the heads of security and law enforcement agencies and the General Staff later on Wednesday.

"We have a big agenda related to the main areas of government activity, but we have to begin with the events in the Kursk region. As you know, the Kiev regime has made another major provocation and is indiscriminate shooting from various types of weapons, including missiles, at civilian buildings, residential buildings, and ambulances," Putin said at a meeting with government members.

"Right after our meeting, I will meet with the heads of security and law enforcement agencies, the Defense Ministry, the General Staff and the FSB [Federal Security Service], I mean the FSB border department," he said.

He said he planned to listen to a report on developments in the Kursk region.
