Putin expects Russian regions to support Kursk region

MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he expects that the heads of regional administrations in Russia will be willing to provide support to the Kursk region, which has suffered from attacks.

Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, acting governor of the Samara region, said at the president's meeting with government ministers on Wednesday that he had gotten in touch with the Kursk regional administration to offer it support by sending medicines and construction materials, dispatching healthcare specialists, and accommodating its residents.

Putin replied to this, "I hope your counterparts from other regions of Russia will join in and do what all of us should do in such situations. The heads of regions can do more than ordinary citizens. I do expect support from you and from Russian regions."
