Almost 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers participated in attack on Kursk region - Russian General Staff chief

MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - Approximately 1,000 Ukrainian troops took part in the attack on Russia's Kursk region on Tuesday, Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov said.

"At 5:30 a.m. on August 6, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces totaling up to 1,000 personnel undertook an offensive, aiming to take a part of the territory of the Kursk region's Sudzha district," Gerasimov said during a meeting attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.
