Russian prosecutor general tasks subordinates with giving special attention to evacuation of civilians from operations areas in Kursk region

MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - The prosecutors of the Kursk region and the neighboring regions have started working round-the-clock due to the situation in the border areas, special attention will be given to issues concerning evacuation of civilians and organization of temporary accommodation facilities, Russian Prosecutor General's Office spokesman Andrei Ivanov said.

"The region's prosecutors and the prosecutors of the neighboring regions started round-the-clock service on August 6, 2024 on the orders of [Russian Prosecutor General] Igor Krasnov due to the invasion by Ukrainian forces of the territory of the Kursk region," Ivanov said.

Krasnov has ordered giving special attention to issues concerning evacuation of civilians from the dangerous districts of the region, provision of everything necessary to temporary accommodation facilities, in particular, water and power, quality food, and medications, he said.

"Measures have been taken to find and block fake information on the events in the region," Ivanov said.

A hotline has been created for prompt reaction to appeals from residents of the border areas, Ivanov said. "Monitoring of the situation with social payouts, pensions, reissuance of lost documents, and pricing of essential goods has been organized," he said.

The prosecutors have taken under their control issues concerning assessment of lost property, rebuilding of housing and social infrastructure facilities, he said.
