Most residents leave Krasnaya Yaruga district in Russia's Belgorod region - authorities (Part 2)

BELGOROD. Aug 12 (Interfax) - Around 11,000 residents of the Krasnaya Yagura district in Russia's Belgorod region have left for safe locations, head of the district administration Andrei Miskov said.

"The centralized evacuation of residents of the Krasnaya Yaruga district has been conducted. As of now, 11,000 out of the 11,500 residents who remained in the district before the relocation have successfully left it. Around 500, including the administration, remain at their workplaces," Miskov wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday.

He added that the relocation had been prepared in advance.

"Residents left on buses provided in a coordinated manner; there were designated assembly points, which a safe departure took place from. The municipal administration, members of self-defense forces, emergency workers, ambulances, the Russian National Guard, the Interior Ministry and other special services were involved. Specialists from social security agencies helped low-mobility and elderly residents to leave. All those who wanted to leave using their own vehicles did so, and there are signs along the roads pointing to the nearest temporary accommodation centers," Miskov said.

The relocation efforts will continue and residents will be additionally informed about this, he said.

The distribution center for residents of the Krasnaya Yaruga district is set up in the village of Rakitnoye, from where people are being brought to the temporary accommodation centers which are available in all areas and districts of the Belgorod region.
