Russian Defense Ministry: Ukrainian Armed Forces' losses in Kursk area exceed 4,700 troops

MOSCOW. Aug 22 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost over 300 troops in the Kursk area in the past 24 hours and over 4,700 troops during the entire period of fighting there, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' losses have amounted to 300 troops and 23 armored vehicles, including three tanks and 20 armored fighting vehicles, one artillery piece, and 15 automobiles," it said.

Over the entire period of fighting in the Kursk area, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost over 4,700 troops, 68 tanks, 27 infantry fighting vehicles, 53 armored personnel carriers, 336 armored fighting vehicles, 148 automobiles, 32 artillery pieces, five anti-aircraft missile systems, ten multiple rocket launchers including three HIMARS and one MLRS, six electronic warfare stations, and four pieces of engineering equipment, including two combat engineer vehicles and one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle.
