Around 2,000 leave border districts of Russia's Kursk region in past 2 days - Emergency Situations Ministry

VORONEZH. Aug 23 (Interfax) - Around 2,000 people have left border districts of the Kursk region in the past two days, spokesman for the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry Artyom Sharov said at a press briefing on Friday.

"About 2,000 people have left border districts of the Kursk region either on their own or in organized convoys in the past two days," Sharov said.

Some 122 temporary accommodation centers have opened in 28 Russian constituent territories, he said, adding that over 10,000 people, including around 3,000 children, are staying there.

There are 94 temporary accommodation centers in the Kursk region. They have taken in over 7,000 people, including 1,500 children.
