Attempted deployment of Ukrainian reserves to border district of Kursk region thwarted - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 23 (Interfax) - The attempted deployment of Ukrainian reserves to a border district of the Kursk region has been thwarted, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"Tactical aircraft, army aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery struck detected concentrations of troops and hardware of four mechanized brigades and two air assault brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and three territorial defense brigades. The attempted deployment of enemy reserves was thwarted," the ministry said.

Over the past week, units from the northern group of forces continued their operation aimed at eliminating Ukrainian formations in the Kursk region, it said.
