MOSCOW. Aug 26 (Interfax) - Russia's northern group of forces has struck four Ukrainian brigades in the Sumy and Kharkov regions, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
"Units from the northern group of forces operating in the Volchansk and Liptsy sectors hit detachments of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the 36th Marine Brigade, and the 13th and 17th National Guard Brigades near Glubokoye, Liptsy and Volchanskiye Khutora in the Kharkov region and Pokrovka in the Sumy region," it said.
In that area, the enemy lost up to 90 troops, two trucks, a 152mm D-20 howitzer, two 122mm D-30 howitzers, and two counterbattery radars, it said.
Units from the central group of forces continued to move deeper into enemy lines and struck detachments of the 31st, 32nd, 47th, 100th and 151st Mechanized Brigades, the 1st Tank Brigade and the 95th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the 111th and 122nd Territorial Defense Brigades, and the 14th and 15th National Guard Brigades near Dzerzhinsk, Tarasovka, Zhuravka, Vozdvizhenka, Novozhelannoye and Yasnobrodovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). Seven counterattacks by enemy assault groups were repelled, it said.
There, Ukrainian forces lost up to 585 troops, three tanks, a Marder infantry vehicle, an armored personnel carrier, four trucks, and 11 artillery systems, the ministry said.
Units from the western group of forces improved their tactical position and hit troops and hardware of the 30th, 44th, 67th, 115th and 116th Mechanized Brigades and the 4th Tank Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the 110th and 241st Territorial Defense Brigades near Sinkovka, Petropavlovka and Tabayevka in the Kharkov region, Stelmakhovka, Makeyevka and Nevskoye in the Lugansk People's Republic, Torskoye in the DPR, and in the Serebryanskoye forest area. Four enemy counterattacks were repelled, it said.
Ukrainian forces lost up to 480 troops, one tank, a Kozak armored combat vehicles, and ten trucks, while counterbattery measures hit six artillery systems. Three field ammo depots, three electronic warfare stations, and a countermeasure radar were destroyed, it said.
Units from the southern group of forces took better lines and struck troops and hardware of the 23rd, 28th and 93rd Mechanized Brigades, the 5th Tank Brigade, the 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade, the 143rd and 144th Infantry Brigades, and the 5th, 10th, and 80th Assault Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the 109th and 117th Territorial Brigades near Verkhnekamenskoye, Pereyezdnoye, Grigorovka, Chasov Yar, Dyleyevka, Krasnogorovka, Konstantinovka and Uspenovka in the DPR. A counterattack by an assault group of the Ukrainian Eighth Mountain Assault Brigade was repelled, it said.
The enemy lost up to 570 troops, an armored combat vehicle, seven trucks, and nine artillery systems. Two electronic warfare stations and four field ammo depots were destroyed over the day, it said.
Units from the eastern group of forces improved their tactical position and hit troops and hardware of the 61st Mechanized Brigade and the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the 123rd and 128th Territorial Defense Brigade near Vodyanoye, Ugledar, Pavlovka, Prechistovka and Neskuchnoye in the DPR. Two counterattacks by units of the Ukrainian 72nd Mechanized Brigade were repelled. The enemy lost up to 135 troops, five trucks and a 122mm D-30 howitzer, it said.
Units from the Dnepr group of forces hit detachments of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the 37th Marine Brigade, and the 124th Territorial Defense Brigade near Malye Shcherbaki in the Zaporozhye region, Sablukovka and Tokarevka in the Kherson region, and the city of Kherson. Ukrainian forces lost up to 70 troops, six trucks, a 152mm D-20 howitzer, and an electronic warfare station, it said.
